What a Ministry...

In Yangon (Rangoon) we spent an afternoon with representatives of the amazing NGO (non-government organization) World Vision.  This is a worldwide organization that in Burma focuses on education, health care, and economic development.  The following pictures are of a site in a township on the outskirts of the capital city.

Check out the condition of this road...

One of the simplest outreach programs World Vision has is providing free condoms to the people of Burma to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.  One startling fact - any woman found in possession of a condom in Burma is assumed to be a prostitute and is automatically sentenced to serve at least one year in a Burmese prison.

Please consider supporting World Vision and its work to help the people of Burma.  You can find them on the web through the link at the top of the page or at http://www.worldvision.org
